Apparently, after being the first Bollywood celeb to have a cup of tea with President Obama, the ‘Love Of Politics, Barack’ star Mallika has good reasons to be on cloud nine.
Recently, when TOI caught up with Mallika Sherawat and asked her what made her the child of controversies, the bombshell was quick to defend herself by voicing that people didn’t like her as she has carved a niche for herself in the industry without making any compromises.
Reportedly, the hottie claimed that she is the face of India in Hollywood.
Mallika said, “Society celebs and the so-called blue bloods of Bollywood are the only ones who have a problem with me. I think they can’t stand the fact that I have made it without making any compromises.”
“Somehow people don’t like people who come from humble backgrounds to soar high. I’m the face of India in Hollywood like it or not,” added Sherawat.
I feel my life is same as Obama’s, says Mallika
Mallika, who became a known face in the industry after her sizzling debut in ‘Murder,’ has created a flutter in tinsel town ever since she met President Obama.
When asked how she felt on meeting Obama, the elated actress said that Obama is a gentleman and both, she and Obama have a few things in common regarding their journey to success.
Comparing herself with Obama, Mallika said, “Yes. He is a thorough gentleman ” simple and intelligent. In fact, I feel that my life is the same as Obama’s. I do not come from a filmi family, nor do I have a Godfather. I’m from Haryana, but I changed the rules of the industry with my work and so has Obama. I think we both are changing the rules of the game in our own way.”
No buyers coming forward for Mallika’s ‘Politics of Love, Barack’
While the actress is going gaga over her meeting with the American president, her forthcoming flick ‘Politics Of Love, Barack,’ which is the reason for her meeting with Obama, is not getting any attention.
No distributors are coming forward to buy Mallika’s movie, and gossip mongers are suggesting that the movie might be released via satellite.
A source revealed, “Surprisingly, even her recent meeting with Obama failed to create any buzz. “If this film fails to release, then it will be a big blow to her career in the West, as her last film Hiss was a dud too.”
